Best Movies of 2018 QuickViews

December 20, 2018 // in QuickView - Micro Reviews by David Deverett

Like every year there are many great movies that are released and beloved by critics and audiences. 2018 is no exception. Here are my top 10 favorite movies I enjoyed this year

#10: Three Identical Strangers

Even though it’s a powerful movie that is amazing, sad and disgusting, Three Identical Strangers told the honest story of how these triplets found each other and why they were separated until they were in their 20s

#9: Ready Player One

Steven Spielberg’s next movie after The Post was Ready Player One. Thanks to his direction, a great cast and amazing visuals and sound, this kept me captivated from beginning to end along with Easter eggs that were fun to look for throughout the film

#8: Love, Simon

Through Nick Robinson’s incredible performance, Love, Simon showed how hard it is for someone to say they are “gay” through heartwarming and beautiful drama and humor

#7: A Star Is Born

Not thinking it would be an incredible movie, Bradley Cooper’s skills at acting and directing along with Lady Gaga’s amazing performance and great songs made it a showstopper from start to finish

#6: Crazy Rich Asians

With a great cast, funny charm and humor and a story everyone could relate to, Crazy Rich Asians got me excited for its next 2 sequels

#5: Instant Family

Not expecting to be filled with a lot of drama, Instant Family wonderfully captured through Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne’s performances what it takes to become parents of foster children

#4: Bohemian Rhapsody

A movie I went nuts for thanks to its trailers before its release in theaters, Bohemian Rhapsody blew me away thanks to Rami Malek’s amazing performance as Freddie Mercury and the meticulous incredible recreation of Live Aid

#3: Incredibles 2

As with the Toy Story franchise and Finding Dory, Incredibles 2 actually became equally as good or better than the original thanks to a great story written and directed by Brad Bird, hilarious moments with Jack-Jack and exciting sequences

#2: Ralph Breaks the Internet

Another amazing sequel that was as good as the first one was Ralph Breaks the Internet through its funny humor, amazing voice cast and 2 memorable sequences that will become classic scenes for years to come

And #1: Won’t You Be My Neighbor?

The reason why this movie is my number 1 choice as best movie of the year, is because of Fred Rogers’ unbelievable story about not just his life but his impact on how his show Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood helped young kids understand the world in a beautiful and incredible way
