2020 Oscars QuickViews

The mother of all award shows wonderfully arrived early: the Oscars.   Thanks to Janelle Monae, the Oscars opened with a wonderful musical number although Monae could’ve done better. Steve Martin and Chris Rock had some great jokes to start the event, thanks to both of them hosting the Oscars more than once.   The only bit that wasn’t as bad were Will Ferrell and Julia Louis-Dreyfus presenting Best Cinematography and Film Editing, but not as terrible as Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolp...

Golden Globes 2019 QuickViews

Was the Golden Globes as good as last year? Find out in this interesting review.   Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh were okay but not great as hosts (even though Samberg should’ve done it by himself which would’ve been funnier and better).   The bit between Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph was really the worst thing that made no sense at all during the category they presented together.   As for who won during the evening? Lots of surprises including Oh winning for her show Killing Eve, ...
