Edward Scissorhands QuickViews

May 9, 2018 // in QuickView - Micro Reviews by David Deverett

After Batman but before Batman Returns, a small character-driven movie came along that has stood the test of time since its release in 1990. Here is the throwback review for Edward Scissorhands.

Going around town to check on her neighborhood, a woman finds a man named Edward (Johnny Depp) living alone in his castle. Thinking he’ll be better off living with her family, the woman brings Edward home where he is a hit with the neighborhood, thanks to his talent of creating things with his scissors as hands.

Everything about Edward Scissorhands from its amazing cast headed by Depp, Winona Ryder, Vincent Price, Dianne Wiest, Alan Arkin, Robert Oliveri and Anthony Michael Hall; impeccable directing by Tim Burton; powerful story by Burton and Caroline Thompson; fantastic Oscar-nominated makeup and special effects by Stan Winston and outstanding score by Danny Elfman make it a film you’ll want to experience over and over again.
