The Florida Project QuickViews

November 30, 2018 // in QuickView - Micro Reviews by David Deverett

Nominated for an Oscar, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild for Best Supporting Actor, here is the throwback review for The Florida Project.

Set in Florida, the film tells the story of a girl (newcomer Brooklyn Prince) and her mother who try to make the best out of every day of their summer while being homeless and living out of their hotel room. Also at the center of the film is Bobby (Willem Dafoe), a manager who tries to make sure that everyone at his hotel is happy and comfortable with what they can afford.

Thanks to its powerful message of poverty and happiness along with amazing performances by Prince and Dafoe, good directing by Sean Baker and a fine pace and flow, The Florida Project will make you see the light in the world during times when it can be dark and cruel.
