Gremlins QuickViews

August 14, 2019 // in QuickView - Micro Reviews by David Deverett

If you grew up in the 1980s, you probably would’ve seen this classic. Here is the throwback review for Gremlins.

Billy Pelzer (Zach Galligan) is a nice kid with a nice home, a nice job, a nice girl he likes (Phoebe Cates) and loving parents who give him the most unusual Christmas gift he ever got: a Mogwai named Gizmo (Howie Mandel). Unfortunately it comes with a set of rules: if you expose it to the light, you may hurt it; if you get it wet, it will multiple; and of course; never ever let them eat after midnight. When those 3 rules get broken, it turns into a fun, wacky, scary, exciting adrenaline-rush you’ll want to enjoy again and again.

Thanks to a fantastic story by Chris Columbus, amazing cast headed by Galligan and Cates, perfect directing by Joe Dante and a speedy but great pace and flow, Gremlins will have you in your seats but also give you a wonderful time watching it as well.
