The Lion King QuickViews

You know the story: a lion gets framed for the death of his father and a meerkat and warthog help shape him to be the king he was born to be. That’s right it’s The Lion King.

So what’s new about this live-action version? Plenty. New photo-real cutting-edge technology (used in The Jungle Book) help create the environments the story takes place in while the runtime of the movie is a lot longer than the classic 1994 animated film.

Even though it’s beat-for-beat of a tale and movie we’ve all grown up with and loved since we were kids, The Lion King still has a couple of pluses: an amazing voice cast, songs we’ve known inside and out for a long time that come back in a great way (plus 2 new ones as well) and Jon Favreau’s wonderful directing that help bring everything back to life for a whole new generation to enjoy.
