Five months after The Last Jedi was released we get a new Star Wars movie Solo.
Set before Rogue One and Episode IV: A New Hope, Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) is a smuggler who is separated from his love of his life (Emilia Clarke) and promises to return to her when he’s a pilot. Three years later he becomes part of a crew that gets asked to pull off one of the biggest heists in history.
Plagued with a troubled production originally directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and written by Lawrence & Jonathan Kasdan, Solo: A Star Wars Story has a great cast headed by Ehrenreich as Solo (who captures Harrison Ford’s persona), Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Paul Bettany, Thandie Newton and Jon Favreau, fantastic directing by Ron Howard and a fast pace and flow that will have you in your seat(s) even though it doesn’t live up to the original and sequel trilogies.
Office Rating: 8/10
