Having been done before as a British movie in 1937 before getting the American treatment in 1954 and 1976 with Judy Garland and James Mason and Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, this new version of a classic musical will certainly gets lots of attention come awards season: A Star Is Born.

Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper) is a rock n roll singer who’s falling over the edge. One day he happens to catch a new hot singer named Ally (Lady Gaga), who has a gift for being a new artist, other than writing songs. While Jackson battles his own demons on the side, he and Ally form a bond that is a beautiful tale full of love from start to finish.

With a powerful story that’ll blow you away, an amazing cast full of incredible performances headed by Cooper, Gaga, Sam Elliott, an unnoticeable Andrew Dice Clay and a short but great appearance by Dave Chappelle, a spectacular directing debut by Cooper and great songs that’ll stick with you after the movie is over, A Star Is Born is a movie you’ll want to see before next year’s Golden Globes and Oscars. It’s sure to get lots of nominations.
